About Me

Hi, I'm Shilpa Ajith — a Data Scientist and AI/ML Professional based in Kitchener, Ontario, with a strong interest in transforming complex data into practical and measurable solutions.
I work with Python, SQL, and cloud-based machine learning workflows, with a focus on NLP and transformer-based models. My recent work includes fine-tuning BERT, BART, RoBERTa, and Llama-2, developing Flask-based APIs, and supporting deployments using MongoDB Atlas and Azure Blob Storage.

My background combines data science, AI/ML development, and academic teaching experience. After completing my postgraduate studies in Signal Processing, I worked as an Assistant Professor, where I strengthened my communication, mentoring, and analytical problem-solving skills.

I later transitioned into data science and AI, gaining hands-on experience in machine learning, NLP, transformer fine-tuning, API-based ML workflows, and cloud-supported development. I am currently focused on Data Scientist, AI/ML, and NLP-focused opportunities where I can apply my technical and analytical skills to real-world problems.

Paragraph Semantic Similarity Analysis App

Built a Streamlit NLP application to compare paragraph-level semantic similarity using sentence embeddings. The app uses a pretrained MPNET transformer model and cosine similarity to measure meaning-based similarity between text pairs.
